Sai
A 17-year-old boy with no memory of who he is, or how he has ended up in this strange world. When he meets Amy and Michelle, he is thrown into a life-and-death struggle with the Wielder of the tome Inferno. After gaining the power of his own tome, known as Origins, Sai gains the power to summon a finch named Charlie which he can transform into all manner of creatures through the power of evolution.
Amy is an 18-year-old girl from The Citadel. When she rescues Michelle and Sai, she has no idea the kind of trouble she has gotten herself into. With her trusty tome Odysseia, Amy is able to summon an unstoppable sword and impenetrable shield. With these powers, she vows to protect her friends and stop the wielder of Inferno.

Michelle
Michelle is a 19-year-old girl who lives in the city of Dione. When a madman wielding the tome known as Inferno attacks her village, she is saved by Sai and subsequently Amy. She joins them on their journey and finds herself gaining the power of a tome known as Fables. Through her tome, she can summon various animals including bumble bee's made of honey.
Alister is a 42-year-old man who serves as an inquisitor for The Citadel. As the user of the tome Moby Dick, he is able to summon harpoons from its pages as well as manifest water-based attacks. When he is sent to investigate the destruction of Dione, he finds himself wrapped up in a conflict that ends up being far deeper than expected. Through a series of undeniable coincidences, he becomes the begrudging leader of Amy, Michelle, and Sai's newly formed squad.
Alister
Oswald
Oswald is a 25-year-old wielder and former student of Alister. In the past, he had a romantic relationship with Sybil, Alister's daughter. When she died, she passed her tome, Doran Grey, onto Oswald. It allows him to change his physical appearance for better or worse at times.
